The Measure of Sucess: Those Who Rise Through Hardship

When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?

When I think of success, I think of my parents. My father is someone who built his own business from the ground up. In my childhood I got to experience the trials and tribulations my parents went through. They worked together to run a business out of their basement, all while providing for myself and my three younger brothers.

Since my parents worked out of the house I grew up in, I had the unique opportunity to experience the hard work they put toward not only their own success, but for providing for our family.

I’ve learned that success is not about money, a fancy office, or expensive things. It is about being happy with what you do, having a happy home, and being with those that you love.
