What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

A brief description of the Great Loop is “a continuous waterway that recreational mariners can travel that includes part of the Atlantic, Gulf Intracoastal Waterways, the Great Lakes, Canadian Heritage Canals, and the inland rivers of America’s heartland”

This is a bucket list dream of mine. I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and have been on sailboats my entire life. Before becoming a mother, I took many sailing trips across lake Michigan and love being out on the open water.

A few years back I met a retired couple that had just finished the Great Loop and shared their amazing story, from exploring the carribean to going through locks on the great lakes. That planted the seed in my brain.

To do this now in my life, I’d have to take a year off of work (and have funds to support this) and pack up my family (I wouldn’t want to do it without them).

If I knew I could do this and not fail, for sure I’d take the risk and do it…but until then, I’ll keep it as a future aspiration.
