A Good Neighbor: Someone Who Lends a Helping Hand

What makes a good neighbor?

My family recently moved to a new city. Transition is hard, especially when you have to leave wonderful neighbors.

In our first home, my first interaction with my next door neighbor was him calling over the fence while I was doing some spring cleaning in the yard. He had ordered too much mulch and asked if we wanted any for our flower beds. Not only did he deliver the mulch, he helped us spread it.

Did he have to help out two new homeowners who know nothing about mulching garden beds? No. But he did anyways, and that fostered a friendly relationship where we felt comfortable asking each other for help when needed.

I hope I can find a neighbor just as great in my new neighborhood.
