List your top 5 grocery store items.
There are certain food items I always like to have handy in the fridge or pantry. While I love to cook and try new recipes every week, here are my top 5 grocery staples that I always have:
Eggs

Eggs are my go-to breakfast food. I like to start my day with a good protien-packed breakfast to keep me full longer and fuel my day. I also love to bake, so eggs are always good to have on hand.
One of my go-to quick weeknight dinners on the fly is Eggs in Purgatory served with a nice crusty bread.
Bananas

My family (especially my son) eats a lot of fruit. Bananas are consistently on our shopping list. Not only do we eat them plain, here are some of our favorite ways to use bananas:
- Sliced and added to cereal, oatmeal, or yogurt.
- Baked in bread, muffins, and pancakes.
- My son’s current favorite sandwich: Peanut butter, banana, and honey
Peanut Butter

Peanut butter (or any nut butter) is something used almost everyday in my household. We use on sandwiches, add to smoothies and yogurt, and use in baking. I usually try to buy natural nut butters and use powdered peanut butter in smoothies and baking.
Easy toddler snack idea: crackers topped with peanut butter and strawberry slices
Hummus

Hummus is one of my favorite foods, and believe it or not my toddler loves it too. It is a versatile snack when paired with veggies or crackers. I also eat it on toast, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. It’s also pretty easy to make. One of my favorite recipes to make is homemade sweet potato hummus from the Run Fast. Cook Fast. Eat Slow. cookbook.
Yogurt

Yogurt is another must-have in our fridge. My husband likes plain Greek yogurt with fruit and granola. I prefer a low-sugar vanilla yogurt. My toddler loves when I make yogurt parfaits with a little honey or maple syrup drizzled on top.
I love to bake and many of my favorite recipes use yogurt. One of my in-a-pinch go-to recipes is an easy 2 ingredient dough that can be used for flatbreads or pizza crust.
